Within 24 hours of the murder of a lone woman at Kelagina Mekeri, the police have arrested two persons on Monday.
Usha is the woman who was murdered. Likhita and M S Ravi of Abburukatte village, the accused, were attested at Somwarpet bus stand.
Usha, who was a patient, was murdered at her home and her valuables was looted by the duo. The accused decamped with a gold chain, ear ornaments, a ring and cash.
A complaint was filed by Usha’s brother Charan Kumar.
Superintendent of Police Dr Suman D Pennekar said that the accused sketched the plot 15 days ago. A bike used for the crime and the stolen gold ornaments have been seized.
Gun thief arrested
A man who had decamped with a gun in Napoklu police station limits was also arrested. K C Ashok from Naladi village near Kakkabbe is the arrested. The gun has been recovered from the accused, the SP said in a press meet.
