JD (S) leader H D Deve Gowda on Thursday took exception to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah not being invited to the Nasscom event on October 6.
He also welcomed Siddaramaiah’s statement about the government acting tough on DCPs and ACPs if they neglected to act against cognisable offences.
Addressing the media in Bengaluru, Gowda said the ‘Nasscom blunder’ had not only insulted the post of the chief minister, it also showed disrespect to six crore Kannadigas.
With regard to the continued crimes against women, Gowda said Siddaramaiah should have acted tough right at the beginning, but he may have failed to do so owing to “pressure” from different quarters.
He also reacted sharply to the allegations levelled by the BJP leaders, especially Prahlad Joshi, against the JD (S) for “not implementing the Kalasa-Bhanduri project and neglecting the North Karnataka region during its tenure”. He said he would write to Siddaramaiah to set up a commission headed by a high court judge to study the contributions made by the different chief ministers of the State to the North Karnataka region.
