A week-long inter-group competition - Republic Day camp (IGC-RDC) of Karnataka-Goa NCC Directorate - was held at Christ University in Kengeri from November 1 to 10. The camp was organised by the 9 Karnataka Battalion NCC, Bengaluru under the aegis of NCC ‘B’ group. As many as 600 cadets from various groups like Ballari, Belagavi, Mangaluru, Mysuru and Group A&B Bengaluru participated in the event.
Brig D M Purvimath, VSM, Deputy Director General, NCC Directorate, addressed the cadets and congratulated them for putting their best efforts. He exhorted them to continue their good work, strive to uphold the ideals set by NCC and contribute positively towards nation building. Bengaluru ‘B’ group was adjudged the winner of the IGC-RDC. Col S Nandakumar, Commander NCC ‘B’ group, Col P Rajnarayan, Camp Commandant and Lt Col Kila Singh, Deputy Camp Commandant supervised the camp facilities and competitions.
According to an official release from the directorate, the selection of cadets representing the Karnataka and Goa directorate was also done during the camp.
The cadets competed in various categories such as drill, line area, flag area, cultural events and the best cadet events.
