Officials from the Department of Mines and Geology visited Survey Number 116, where sand had been stored illegally on government-land at Narasipura in Koppa taluk.
The sand was being stored illegally on seven locations on the banks of River Tunga. The officials are looking for details on who stored the sand and the purpose behind doing so, said geologist Dayanand.
Tahsildar Tanuja T Savadaddi, Koppa PSI Puttegowda, Deputy Tahsildar Ramanna, and others were present.
