The Centre has fixed deadline for completing the process and accordingly, it should be completed before August 31. The beneficiaries, whose cards are not updated, will not be provided jobs under the scheme. Hence, officials should be on their toes and complete that work before that time.

Around 1,905 cards in Chamarajanagar taluk, 3,820 cards in Kollegal and 565 cards in Yalandur taluk have been cancelled.

The process is going on at a snail’s pace due to non-availability of scanning machine at the gram panchayats, said Taluk Panchayat Executive Officer.

Joint Secretary Shankar Raju said barring school and college students, others should be registered under the MIS.

Regarding repair works of Punajanauru-Bendguli road works in the taluk, an official of PWD said there are 27 curves in the road and the works are estimated to cost Rs 750 lakh.
Estimates

An estimation for the same has been prepared and submitted to Zilla Panchayat, he added.President B M Muniraju directed that KSRTC to issue more bus passes for physically challenged. Replying to this, an officer from KSRTC said the government had given permission to distribute only 1,000 bus passes to the physically challenged in the district.

It is being distributed as per the list sent by the District Physically Challenged Welfare Department. Another 1,000 passes will be distributed soon, he added.
