Speaking to media representatives in the city on Thursday, he said that water storage in the major reservoirs has hit low due to poor rain.

Water level in Linganamakki, Supa, Varahi and Alamatti reservoirs where hydro electricity is generated has come down. Hydel power stations are contributing 3,800 mw at present, which is 63 per cent of the total power generated in the State.
The KPC has assured of providing 25 million units from hydel power stations till June 30, after which it will be difficult to manage, he stated.
State needs 105 million units power at present and the demand keeps fluctuating.
In case of wide gap between demand and supply, State may find it difficult to purchase huge quantum of power from neighbouring States this time, as Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh are also facing similar crisis.
Jamadar also informed that KPC office in Mastikatte near Hosanagar will soon be shifted to Belthangady.
