BJP MP Pratap Simha challenged Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy to reduce the fuel surcharge levied by the state government, if he wants cheaper fuel.
Speaking at a media meet in Mysuru, Simha said that the state government had levied two per cent surcharge on fuel in its recent budget, and if the CM is truly concerned about rising fuel prices, he must scrap the surcharge.
The MP also asked JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda, former chief minister Siddaramaiah and Kumaraswamy to 'suggest' how to strengthen the rupee and reduce fuel prices.
Simha also alleged that the coalition government had misused the government machinery to support the nationwide bandh against fuel price hike.
