Anitha Srinivasan had purchased three tickets for herself and her two children from Bangalore to Delhi on Go-Air by paying Rs 17,778. On arrival at the airport they were told that the flight had been cancelled due to bird hit. They bought tickets on Indigo Airlines to reach Delhi and got to know from other passengers that Go-Air had accommodated them free on that flight. The latter had refused a similar request by Anitha. The Forum also ordered repayment of the ticket fare.
Cheques dishonoured
G Ramakrishna and Gowramma had bought two tickets by paying Rs 1.2 lakh for a tour to the USA through Creative Tours and Travels and Sri Sai World Travels. A day before the scheduled departure they learnt that the tour had been cancelled. They were issued a cheque for Rs 1.2 lakh which returned dishonoured. Following a complaint, they were issued two cheques, which also bounced and legal notices remained unanswered. The Forum ordered both firms to refund the fare along with Rs 10,000 as compensation and Rs. 5,000 as costs to the couple.
