Udupi/Bengaluru: The BJP on Saturday expelled former MLA K Raghupati Bhat from the party for six years after he refused to withdraw his candidature as an Independent for MLC polls from the South West Graduates constituency.

The party’s disciplinary committee president Lingaraj  Patil said Bhat has been expelled with immediate effect. Meanwhile, it is learnt that the RSS has quietly called back the party’s state general secretary (organisation) G V Rajesh.
