Food, Civil Supplies and District In-charge Minister Zameer Ahmed said that Congress president Rahul Gandhi will visit the state on March 4 and address public rallies in Dharwad and Haveri.
He told reporters here that the visit is aimed at strengthening the party ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. The venues of the programmes will be decided after holding a discussion with Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee president Dinesh Gundu Rao, he added.
He said Congress general secretary Priyanka Vadra will also be invited to the state based on the demand of the party workers.
Ahmed said he will act per the party's instructions.
He said MLA Ramesh Jarkiholi will not leave the party.
