Rashtrapati Bhavan responds to MLC Veena Achaiah's plea to confer Bharat Ratna on FM Carippa, K S Thimayya

The office of the Rashtrapati Bhavan has responded to the plea by MLC Veena Achaiah, to confer 'Bharat Ratna' on Field Marshal K M Cariappa and General K S Thimayya posthumously.

During the visit of the President of India on February 6, for the inauguration of the General K S Thimayya Memorial Museum in Madikeri, Veena Achaiah had submitted the memorandum to President Ram Nath Kovind.

Special Officer of the President's Office Jagannath Shrinivasan has replied that the letter by the MLC has been sent to the Prime Minister's Office. Veena received the reply two days ago.

Veena Achaiah has expressed confidence about the Prime Minister's Office responding positively.
