Speaking to media persons after visiting the sea erosion prone areas like Kotepura, Subhash Nagara and Mogaveera Pattana in Ullal near here, he said the the pilot project proposal has been placed before the cabinet which is expected to get the nod within a week.

Stating that there would be no crisis caused due to sea erosion after the construction of sea walls, he said the sea walls will be constructed using German technology. Meanwhile, he guaranteed all necessary help from the side of the government to the worst effected residents of sea erosion.

“Every year the damage incurs in these regions owing to the sea erosion. The Government had sanctioned Rs 1 crore last year for undertaking temporary measures to stop the erosion and almost the same amount has been released even this year,” he said and added that the government is ready to take up every measure to sort out the problems of the residents and their safety.

He also clarified that there is no move of shifting the residents of the sea erosion prore areas as of now and they will be moved only if the situation turns severe. MLA U T Khader who accompanied the Minister said that the residents have been priorly alerted about the erosion and he requested the localites to co-operate to the warnings.
