Delivering the keynote address at a round table meet on `Public Private Partnerships for Improved Urban Sanitation’ organised by Ministry of Urban Development, Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the Water and Sanitation Programme (WASP) of South Asia on Wednesday, Ramachandran said, “The award specifically recognises efforts made for reuse of recycled water” and would be announced annually.
Classification
The rating process for 428 Class-I cities in this connection had already been initiated. Bangalore, Mysore and Hubli-Dharwad are among the cities which figure under this classification. The ratings are based on the strategies evolved to manage sanitation as well as implementation of it, he added.
