Former chief minister Siddaramaiah has asked that why can’t Satish Jarkiholi be made a chief minister.
“No one should remain fixed to that position. I am a person with a strong belief in social justice. Yes, he too should become chief minister once,” Siddaramaiah said. The former chief minister is also the chairperson of the coordination and monitoring committee of the JD(S)-Congress coalition government.
Siddaramaiah was responding to a slogan raised during Valmiki Jayanti programme at Badami on Wednesday. Some people in the audience raised a slogan saying that Satish Jarkiholi be made the chief minister.
“I have pulled the chariot of social justice so far, with great difficulty. If it is possible for you, draw the chariot further and if not possible, leave it where it is. But, don’t try to pull the chariot back,” Siddaramaiah said, quoting Dr B R Ambedkar’s statement.
Responding to Siddaramaiah’s statement, Jarkiholi said that people of all communities will get a chance in future.
