The State government has failed to utilise the funds released by the Union government for the development of agriculture. However, it has announced separate agriculture budget, which is a joke of the year, said MP H Vishwanath.
Speaking to presspersons, he said “Yeddyurappa is eager to present state budget before the Union budget. Without knowing the budgetary allocation to the state, how will he get the source of income to present the budget?” he asked.
He said the Union government had released a grant of Rs 19,064 crore between 2009 and 2011. However, the State government has failed to utilise 20 per cent of the amount. The state government has failed in implementing National Horticulture Mission, National Krishi Mission.
Separate agriculture budget is a way of cheating the farmers. “There are no ministers in Vidhana Soudha. Officials are spending their time by playing tennis. How can we make progress in agriculture without working hard?” he asked.
The previous government were supporting agriculture by earmarking funds for irrigation projects. However, the BJP government has failed to release funds for irrigation. None of the ministers speak of pro-agriculture activities, he alleged.
The MP said H D Kumaraswamy is the puppeteer for the dissidents to raise their voice against the State government. By listening to H D Kumaraswamy, the political life of 16 MLAs have been eliminated. Those who helped Yeddyurappa to come to power have been eliminated by him.
“We do not believe in the secular stand of the JD(S). Few of our members have been affected with the disease to become Chief Minister. Hence, few are trying to have alliance with the JD(S),” he added.
Vishwanath predicted the fall of the State government. “The government will not last long. The BJP leaders will not be in a position to raise their voice against corruption in the Parliament. Leaders like Advani will not tolerate such a corrupt government,” he said.
