A team of doctors, led by Dr C N Manjunath, chairman of Sri Jayadeva Institute of Cardiovascular Sciences and Research, conducted a health checkup of Shivakumara Swami at the Siddaganga Hospital here on Friday.
The team included specialists, including Dr Nagaraj, director of Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Chest Diseases; Dr N Manjunath, chairman of Anaesthesia department of Jayadeva Institute and Dr Ravi Arjun from Kidwai Institute of Oncology.
Dr C N Manjunath told reporters, “The seer was unable to breathe on his own, and hence, was on artificial ventilation. Body immunity is low, while heartbeat, pulse and blood pressure are stable. There is an improvement in protein levels and the infection in the respiratory system was being attended to.”
“Doctors of Dr Rela Institute & Medical Centre, Chennai, and BGS Gleneagles Global Hospitals, Bengaluru, are also being consulted. The intensive care unit at the Siddaganga Hospital is of international standards and there is no need to shift the seer elsewhere,” he said.
