Bengaluru: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) on Tuesday grilled former minister B Nagendra and Karnataka Maharshi Valmiki Scheduled Tribes Development Corporation Chairman Basanagouda Daddal in a multi-crore scam.
The SIT summoned Nagendra and Daddal, both MLAs, for questioning in connection with the scam.
The SIT summoned Nagendra and Daddal after interrogating 11 suspects arrested in the case. Both politicians have been questioned based on the statements given by the arrested suspects.
Chandrashekhar, an accounts superintendent in the corporation, died by suicide in Shivamogga on May 26, leaving a death note and alleging a scam.
The SIT has arrested Nekkanti Nagaraj and Nageshwar Rao, said to be Nagendra’s close aides.
Meanwhile, a purported audio related to the scam doing the rounds on social media contains the word “chairman”. The SIT will likely investigate the origin and contents of the audio.
