"Anybody could purchase a five-acre land and start the work of setting up of a unit immediately. There will be no need for seeking any permission. The order will be issued soon after necessary amendments to 79A and B," declared Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa

He said the government also proposed to distribute two lakh sites for the homeless and site less poor in the State. The deputy commissioners would be directed to purchase land and identify the homeless poor.
Efforts would also be made to further strengthen the self help groups. Replying to a question, the chief minister said the farmers had to pay the bills of electricity used by them for other than agriculture purpose. Government was purchasing power at the rate of Rs 8 and Rs 9 per unit.
"If someone does not pay the bills their connections would have to be disconnected. So is the case of industrialists," he said. To another question, Yeddyurappa said the State's case was strong enough to retain its share of waters in river Mahadayi and its tributaries even if there was a tribunal for the purpose.
