Sujnan R Shetty of Alva’s English Medium School in Moodbidri has topped the state in the SSLC examination after applying for a revaluation. He has scored 625 marks.
When the SSLC results were announced, Sujnan had scored 99 each in Kannada and English and stood second in the state.
“I was confident of my performance and applied for revaluation. After revaluation, it was found that I had scored 100 marks in both Kannada and English. The total rose to 625 marks,” said Sujnan.
Alva’s Education Foundation had announced a cash prize of Rs 2 lakh to Sujnan. Son of Alva’s PU College Principal Prof Ramesh Shetty, Sujnan said he wished to take up research in medicine.
“I was sad when my SSLC results were announced. I had scored only 623 and was expecting more. I was attentive in class. This helped me to excel in examinations.”
Second rank
After revaluation, Adithi Kulkarni of Siddapura Government High School in Kundapur stands second in the state.
She scored 623 marks. Adithi had scored 100 marks in all the subjects except English. She decided to apply for revaluation.
In English, she scored 86. After revaluation, her total marks in English was 98.
