Karnataka will showcase its rich heritage of folklore in colourful tableaux during the Republic Day parade on Rajpath here on Thursday.
The state will depict popular, major folk arts, including dance of the Goravas, Dollu Kunita, Veeragaase, Kamsale, Pooja Kunita and Somana Kunita.
While the replica of a Gorava dancer leads the tableau, that of the Somana Kunita has been placed at the tableau’s rear.

A group of 25 artistes and supporting staff, led by art director Shashidhar Adapa have prepared the tableaux and, music director V Manohar has scored the background music. Karnataka is taking part in the Republic Day parade for the seventh straight year and has won awards for its tableaux in the past.
