Speaking to the media at a programme organised by the District Chalavadi Mahasabha in the City on Sunday, the minister welcomed the Union Energy Minister’s positive response to the State’s proposal.

Efforts are already underway to establish gas-based power plants at Tadadi and other places in the State, the minister added.

Reacting to the criticism by the Opposition,  Eshwarappa said that the Opposition has not made any creative suggestions in the past two years. Even when discussion on power crisis in the State was initiated in the Assembly there was no response from the Opposition,  the minister fumed.

The BJP government is open to constructive criticism and experienced politicians like H D Deve Gowda should make effective suggestions instead of making baseless allegations, said Eshwarappa.
