Sweden varsities ideal for pioneering research

Addressing a seminar on education destinations in Sweden, at BMS College of Engineering on Thursday, Rajiv Thottapilil from KTH Royal Institute of Technology, Sweden, said the admission process and numerous scholarship programmes make the country one of the top educational destinations for technical students across the globe. Also, PhD students studying in Sweden shared their experiences with the participants. According to Chitrupa Ramesh, a PhD student at KTH, the university offers students an opportunity to hone their skills and network with like-minded young researchers.

Cutting edge research projects in top universities in the European nation, especially in fields like aerospace engineering caught the attention of many aspiring researchers at the conference.

Prof H P Khincha, former V-C, Visvesvaraya Technological University said technology has boosted intellectual pursuits by reducing distance. “The internet has altered our thinking and interaction. Conferences such as these facilitate better exchange of ideas,” he added.
