Under the Employment Guarantee Scheme, road works connecting Pathabagepalli to Chinnepalli, Malachinnepalli, Mooguchinnepalli were in progress.

For the work, road widening work was on and trees which came under the way of construction of roads were chopped. However, trouble started when a tree which had to be felled for the work was opposed by the land owner in whose land the tree was rooted.
The land owner did not want the tree to be cut. Though the villagers of Pathabagepalli were making efforts to convince the land owner regarding the issue, he didn’t budge.

Villagers enraged

However, on Thursday when the land owner again refused the felling of tree , heated conversation took place between the land owner and hundreds of villagers who wanted to chop the tree for the construction of road.

The enraged villagers in a fit of anger placed thorns throughout the road which stopped even the police jeep who had come to resolve the issue.

Sub inspector K G Sathish who arrived to the spot brought the situation under control and held a long discussion with the villagers and the land owner.

However, after interference from the police the tree was finally  felled using JCB machine and the issue was resolved.
