He refused to take questions on the political developments but made a couple of statements voluntarily. He said senior party leader Arun Jaitley had directed him to maintain silence and focus on development only.
He hoped that the ''defiant'' ministers Karunakara Reddy, Janardhana Reddy and Sriramulu who had been co-operating in flood-relief operations so far, would continue to do so that the government could reach its target of constructing three lakh houses in the flood-hit districts.
He expressed happiness that the Centre had released Rs 500 crore for flood-relief works. ''`My mantra is only development, development and development and, nothing else,'' he added.
About 100 MLAs and MPs met Jaitley during his stay in Bangalore. ''He has suggested us certain things. Our intention is to give good governance for 5 years and come to power again for next five years. For that we have to make mental preparations. There is no crisis,'' Yeddyurappa said.
The Chief Minister said that though he was not saummoned by the party High Command, he would be going to Delhi in a couple of days to invite Prime Minister Manmohan Singh and Advaniji for launching the house construction programme.
