The South Africa variant of coronavirus has been traced in two persons who have arrived in the city from Dubai.
District health officer Dr H L Janardan said a man and his sister came to the city via Bengaluru from Dubai on February 18. One among them developed a fever after two days. Upon testing, the viral disease was confirmed in one person. Later, another person also found to be infected by the virus. Their primary contacts have been also traced and tested, he added.
The infected persons have been given treatment at a trauma centre and are under home quarantine.
