Union Minister DV Sadananda Gowda was rushed to a hospital after collapsing due to low blood pressure at Chitradurga while returning from the BJP meeting held in Shivamogga.

He is currently stable and has been shifted to a private hospital in Bengaluru for further checkups and treatment.

The incident occurred at around 1.45 pm at a hotel in Chitradurga, where he had arrived for lunch. After being greeted by party functionaries and supporters on his arrival, he collapsed as he was entering the hospital, according to sources.

He was immediately rushed to the nearby Basaveshwara Medical College Hospital in a police vehicle. Hospital authorities said that the minister had recovered and spoke to his family members and party leaders following the incident.

Gowda was subsequently shifted to Aster CMI hospital in Bengaluru from Chitradurga at around 3 pm and zero traffic arrangements were made. The minister was taken in an ambulance, accompanied by doctors, as a precautionary measure.

Sources said that though an option to airlift the Union minister was explored, it was dropped due to delay in arrangement for the same.
