A US company on Sunday signed a document with Karnataka government, expressing interest to set up a 1,000 MW solar power plant in the State.

Representatives of Convalt Energy signed the document with officials of Department of Industries and Commerce of Government of Karnataka on the sidelines of the Vibrant Gujarat Global Investor Summit at Mahatma Mandir in Gandhinagar.

R Girish, Joint Director of Department of Industries and Commerce of Karnataka Government, said that Convalt Energy was keen to set up a solar power plant somewhere in the State with generation capacity of 1,000 MW.
