Former minister C H Vijayashankar, who quit the BJP recently, will join the Congress party on January 19.
Speaking with mediapersons here on Friday, Vijayashankar said that he will join the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president G Parameshwara at the chief minister's office in Bengaluru. "I am joining the party without any demands," he said.
Vijayashankar said he will make public the irregularities in a political party after he joins the Congress. Earlier, he held a meeting with the chief minister at his residence in the city for 30 minutes. Vijayashankar, who joined the BJP in 1991, was with the Congress till then. He also served as an MLA, an MP, an MLC and as a Forest minister in the BJP.
