Coalition co-ordination committee chairman Siddaramaiah said on Thursday that winnability would be the basis of seat-sharing between Congress and JD(S) for the Lok Sabha elections and not the number of seats to be given to each party.

"The discussion about seat-sharing is still in its preliminary stage and we have not talked to JD(S) chief H D Deve Gowda. One more meeting of the KPCC election committee will be conducted in a couple of days. We will announce the candidates before the model code of conduct comes into force," he said.

He told mediapersons here that there was no proposal to invite Priyanka Gandhi to contest from Karnataka in the Lok Sabha elections.

"Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are now focusing on Uttar Pradesh. Based on their availability, they will be invited for the campaigning in the state. We are ahead of BJP in campaigning, while BJP has also not yet announced the list of its candidates," Siddaramaiah noted.
