Thiruvananthapuram: An Air India flight from Mumbai made an emergency landing in Thiruvananthapuram airport on Thursday following a bomb threat, which was later found to be hoax.

Air India flight AI 657 (BOM-TRV) reported the bomb threat by 7:30 am. The pilot informed the ATC after a bomb threat was found written on a tissue paper in the aircrafts toilet.

Subsequently, a full emergency was declared at Thiruvananthapuram airport and the aircraft landed safely. All passengers were evacuated safely after parking the aircraft at the isolation bay.

City police commission Sparjan Kumar said that the threat was found to be a hoax one. All passengers were verified and police have got some suspicions regarding the person who made the hoax message. It was being verified.

Meanwhile, the return service, AI 658, got delayed. It led to protest by passengers in the airport.
