Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India Rajiv Mehrishi, who was a guest at a private resort near Madikeri, has been rescued on Friday.
According to credible sources, Indian Army personnel were pressed into service to rescue the CAG and his family.
According to Taj Madikeri Resort and Spa sources, Mehrishi and his family members were staying there for the last few days.
When the weather turned unbearable, they were rescued and shifted to a safer place. Later they returned to Delhi.
Some rooms in the resort were damaged by heavy rain. Access to the resort was cut off due to landslides and flooding.
Madikeri is among the places worst hit by lashing rains in Kodagu district for the last three days.
