The blaze erupted at around 8 am on the 10th floor of Riya Palace building, located on 4th Cross Road at the Lokhandwala Complex in Andheri area.

Mumbai: In a shocking incident, a senior citizen couple and another persons were killed in an incident of fire in a high-rise building in the upscale Lokhandwala Complex area of Andheri in Mumbai on Thursday.

The deceased have been identified as Chandraprakash Soni (74), Kanta Soni (74) and Pelubeta (42), according to officials of the BrihanMumbai Municipal Corporation.

The fire broke out at around 8 am at the flat on the 10th floor of Riya Palace at Cross Road No 4 at Lokhandwala Complex.

The fire was extinguished by the Mumbai Fire Brigade around 9 am.

The injured persons were rushed to the Cooper Hospital, where they were pronounced dead on admission.

The cause of the fire is being ascertained.
