Mumbai: In a shocking incident, actor and Shiv Sena leader Govinda sustained a bullet injury on his leg at his home in Mumbai on Tuesday morning.
Govinda is currently admitted to the CritiCare Asia Hospital for treatment.
The Juhu police station is investigating the matter.
The actor was reportedly cleaning the weapon in his Mumbai house when it accidentally fired, reports said.
Meanwhile, in an audio statement, Govinda confirmed that he sustained a bullet injury. "It has been successfully removed," he said and thanked the team of doctors.
The statement was released by Krishna Hegde, the spokesperson and deputy leader of Shiv Sena.
The 60-year-old actor, a former Congress MP from Mumbai North, joined the Eknath Shinde-led Shiv Sena before the Lok Sabha polls.
