After this the Mumbai police went into tizzy as the Khan father-son duo has been receiving threats from underworld don Lawrence Bishnoi and his gang.

The incident happened on Wednesday morning, when the 88-year-old Salim Khan was sitting on a bench near his home off the Bandra Seaface.

The couple - a man and a burqa-clad woman, accosted him and asked - “Lawrence Bishnoi ko bheju kya?” (Should I send Lawrence Bishnoi?), before they took a U-turn and sped off from there.

Salim Khan's bodyguard filed a complaint with police and an FIR was registered.

The police launched investigations immediately based on the CCTV footage.

The duo were detained on Thursday.

“The accused have said they were just playing a prank”, a police officer said.
