An officer of the Navi Mumbai fire brigade team died of a heart attack ahead of joining the search and rescue operations at the landslide-hit Irshalwadi in Khalapur in Raigad district.
Assistant station officer Shivram Dhumne (52), who is attached to the Belapur fire station of Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation, was on his way to join the operations.
While climbing the steep path, he collapsed after suffering a heart attack and died, according to NMMC Chief Fire Officer Shirish Aradwad.
