"It is important for me to send my four suspended MLAs back to the legislature as they were elected (to the state Assembly) by lakhs of voters. It would be injustice to their constituencies if they remain out of the House," he told reporters here.
The MNS MLAs were suspended in November last year for attacking SP MLA Abu Azmi in the Assembly for taking oath in Hindi.
On MNS MLAs voting for Congress in the June 10 biennial polls to the Legislative Council, Thackeray said, "We took whatever step was needed to get suspension of our four MLAs revoked."
Rubbishing Sena's allegation of vote-for-money during the polls, he questioned Shiv Sena's stand to support NCP in Pune Municipal Corporation elections.
"Did Sena get money to support NCP in Pune Municipal Corporation polls despite fighting the elections with their ally BJP?" he asked.
He also asked why Sena, which he left in 2005 to float his own outfit, is silent over MNS support to them in the municipal council polls in Ambernath in adjoining Thane.
Spelling out his stand, he said, "No one is my friend or enemy in politics. I am not bound to anyone and would do things for the good of my party and Marathi people."
Thackeray recalled how in the past Sena had helped "outside" candidates like Congress leader Murli Deora, who became Mayor of Mumbai with its support.
Asking Sena to "mind their own business", he said, "My party is an independent entity and Sena should not tell me what to do. Why we are being blamed if they lost in the Council polls?"
The MNS chief questioned Sena's support to businessman Rajkumar Dhoot and poet-journalist Pritish Nandy in Rajya Sabha polls and Lalchand Rathod in Council elections in the past. "Were these people any social activists that Sena supported them?" he asked.
Thackeray criticised Sena for sending Bharatkumar Raut, a journalist, to Rajya Sabha and party spokesperson Neelam Gorhe to the state Council, saying the saffron outfit should field people who are loyal to it.
Terming Sena's criticism of his party as "unnecessary", Raj said it is their (Sena) old habit of blaming others for their defeat.
"After Maharashtra Assembly poll defeat (in 2009), Sena blamed Marathi 'manoos' and now they are blaming my party. They never accept their mistakes. Why did they field second candidate (in Council polls) when they did not have sufficient votes?" he asked.
