Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday launched a scathing attack on prime minister Narendra Modi for calling the agitating farmers 'terrorists'' and said that his heart ''beats only for the billionaires''.
''The Prime Minister is not true to his words.....his heart beats only for the billionaires,'' Priyanka said while addressing a 'mahapanchayat' of the farmers at Saharanpur, about 500 kilometres from Lucknow.
''The sons of the farmers are martyred at the borders....the farmers help the country become self-dependent but the PM is humiliating them,'' she said.

The Congress leader sought to know from Modi where his ''billionaire friends'' were, when the people were walking home on foot?
She also said that the prime minister did not fulfil his promise to pay Rs 15 thousand crore toward payment of cane arrears with interest. ''PM can earmark Rs. 20 thousand crore for the new Parliament building but he does not have money for the farmers,'' she said.
Stating that her party stood with the farmers on the new farm bills, she said that the new law would ''open doors for hoarding''. ''The billionaire businessmen will decide the rates of the crops not the farmers,'' she added.

Priyanka said that the 'mandis' would become dumping grounds for the big traders and the MSP (minimum support price) would be abolished.
The Congress leader said that her party was with the farmers and asked them not to back down.
Earlier Priyanka paid obeisance at the famous Shakambhari Devi Temple near Saharanpur. She was there for around half an hour. She was seen carrying beads of 'rudraksha' (considered to be a sacred seed by the Hindus).
