'Rambhakts', who poured into Ayodhya to take part in the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) sponsored 'dharam sabha', were greeted with flower petals by Muslims in the temple town.

Muslim leader Babloo Khan and his supporters showered flower petals on the 'Rambhakts' as they arrived at the entrance of the venue for the 'dharam sabha' on Sunday.

A few banners were also put up by BJP Muslim leaders vowing support for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya.

Although VHP claimed that five thousand Muslims would attend Sunday's 'dharm sabha', not many Muslims were seen at the meeting. Many of the posters at the site had names of Muslim leaders, mainly those associated with the Muslim Karsevak Manch.

There was some apprehension in the Muslim community in the temple town over the meeting as they feared that "outsiders" could create trouble.

Though there were reports that some Muslim families had left Faizabad (now Ayodhya) and Ayodhya fearing trouble, district administration denied that any member of the community had left the twin towns.

Babri litigant Iqbal Ansari also expressed satisfaction over security arrangements in the temple town.
