The petitioner in the Adani-Hindenburg matter has filed an application in the Supreme Court, urging the apex court to direct Indian agencies to investigate the US Department of Justice's indictment of Gautam Adani and other executives of the Adani Group for bribery and fraud.

The applicant said that the indictment had "unveiled the malpractices carried out by the Adani conglomerate and the allegations are of such serious nature that they shall also be investigated by Indian agencies in the interest of the nation."

Further, the applicant reminded the apex court that the Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) was yet to conclude its investigation into Adani Group companies as per the SC's order of January 3, 2024.

The application was filed by Advocate Vishal Tiwari, LiveLaw reported.
