The political scenario in the poll-bound state of Chhattisgarh is fast changing with a new alliance likely to emerge soon.
The Gondwana Gantantra Party (GGP), a key force among the tribal community, is likely to forge an alliance with Janata Congress Chhattisgarh (J), according to reports in political circles.
The Bahujan Samaj Party and the GGP were both holding talks with the Congress party with little success. Though the GGP had kept options open, the latest indication is that the GGP will join hands with the JCC (J) and forge an alliance.

GGP chief Heera Singh Markam and JCC(J) supremo Ajit Jogi are holding regular talks to give a final shape to the alliance. An official announcement is expected soon.
The GGP has hold in around six seats. In the 2013 election, its candidates in two seats were in the second position, while in eight other seats they were in the third position and in six seats in the fourth position. Now, if the votes share of the BSP and the GGP are combined, the candidates of the alliance with the JCC(J) might make a difference, according to political analysts.
Meanwhile, reacting to Congress' B-team of BJP jibe, the JCC(J) chief stated that the party's sole aim was to defeat the ruling BJP.
