In a breakthrough, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Sunday fished out electronic devices from the Mithi River off the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC), which may possibly have been dumped by suspended Assistant Police Inspector Sachin Vaze.
The NIA team took Vaze to the spot around 3 pm, the official said.
Thereafter a team of swimmers and divers recovered two CPUs of computers, number plates of a vehicle, two digital video recorder (DVR), and a laptop among other things.
The recovered articles would be sent to the Central Forensic Science Laboratory for examination.
Vaze has been booked in twin cases of planting of a Mahindra Scorpio laden with 20-odd gelatin sticks and a threatening letter near industrialist Mukesh Ambani’s residence and the murder of SUV owner Mansukh Hiran.
The recovery is yet to be linked to Vaze.
It is suspected that Assistant Police Inspector Riyazuddin Kaazi had told the NIA during his interrogation that this evidence was thrown into the Mithi river.
