Senior BJP leader from Jammu and Kashmir Nirmal Singh on Wednesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other senior party leaders in New Delhi.
Singh is learnt to have apprised Modi of the political developments in the state where the BJP pulled out of a coalition government last month.
His meetings with Modi and other leaders like Ram Madhav came amid speculation that the BJP is trying to form a government in the state, which is presently under the Governor's rule, with the help of PDP rebels.
However, Madhav had earlier rubbished such speculation saying, "Not true. I will certainly check with the state unit and ensure that the BJP keeps itself scrupulously out of whatever is happening in other parties in the valley. We are for continuing with the Governor’s Rule in the interest of peace, governance and development in the state."
