Opposition leaders in Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha,  Swaraj and Arun Jaitely, respectively, adopted a divergent position on the PM’s remarks as Swaraj tweeted on Friday that it was time to let matters rest. Jaitely and RS member Ravishankar Prasad maintained that it was not enough and Singh needed to give a structured response in Parliament.

On Saturday, Swaraj, s blamed the media for the same stating  that there was no dissent in the party.

“There is no difference within the party and between me and Jaitley on the issue. The demands Jaitley made, the Prime Minister had already spoken about it that he will give a statement in Parliament. That is why I did not put it on the twitter. There is a constraint in twitter that you have to say things in 140 characters. So I did not put it on twitter,” she said.According to her, newspapers had tried to hype difference between her and Jaitley.

The CPI(M) said on Saturday that Singh’s statement was “not substantial” and said it would await what he is likely to say in Parliament on the issue.
