"Pacheco is planning to appear before the Crime branch this afternoon. He was having legal consultations before facing the police again," they said.

According to sources, the former minister has taken services of a panel of lawyers from Delhi, who came to Goa on Saturday, to guide him on the issue.Pacheco, 46, quit from his post on Saturday, a day after he was quizzed by the Crime branch in connection with the death of 28-year-old Nadia Torrado, stating that he wanted the police to conduct free and fair inquiry into the incident.

However, he did not turn up before the Crime branch, which had called him again for questioning yesterday, prompting Goa Police to launch a search and also issue a look out notice against him at all the international airports, to prevent him from escaping.
Nadia had died in a Chennai hospital last Sunday after she allegedly consumed poison. Trouble started for the NCP minister when women's organisations accused him of being responsible for her death.

However, Nadia's family members, including her estranged husband Wilson Barretto, have stood by Pacheco saying his wife accidentally used a tube of rat poison mistaking it for toothpaste.
