"Pandit Nehru, Sardar Patel, Rajaji (C Rajagopalachari), Rajendra Prasad and BR Ambedkar were against against the idea of Delhi being given the status of full statehood," says Union Minister Amit Shah.

Think about Delhi, not alliance, Shah tells Opposition MPs

"There are multiple reasons to make an alliance, it should be done for the benefit of the society. Thinkabout Delhi, don't think about alliance. Even after alliance, PM Modi will win the election with full majority. Don't think that you can win people's trust by forming an alliance, says Shah.

"The people had voted for the UPA and trusted them earlier but scams worth Rs 12 lakh crore came to the fore," says Shah.

Opposition has misinterpreted the Supreme Court's order, says Shah

In a veiled dig at AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal, Shah says that the purpose of opposing the bill is to hide the corruption in renovating official residence.

"The Opposition has misinterpretedthe Supreme Court's order," says Shah.

There are provisions in the Constitution that allow the Centre to make laws for Delhi, says Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

This ordinance refers to the order of the Supreme Court which says that the Parliament has the right to make laws on any issue related to the National Capital Territory of Delhi, saysShah on the Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi (Amendment) Bill, 2023.

Delhi Services Bill is in accordance with SC judgement, says Shah.

Shah says questions are being raised on competency of the bill.

Home Minister Amit Shah is now addressing the Lok Sabha on Delhi Services Bill. 

"The Opposition seems to be in the mood to listen to me today," says Shah.

"I oppose the bill. Through this bill, the govt is going to trample upon the Right to Information Act and the Right to Privacy. So, we are vehemently opposing this kind of sinister motive being displayed by this government. Send this bill to the standing committee or any other forum for discussion on it," says Congress MP Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury on the introduction of the Digital Personal Data Protection Bill, 2023 in Lok Sabha.

Kharge says that the Opposition has explained earlier why they had filed notices to discuss Manipur issue under rule 267. "My suggestion is that you call both the parties at Rajya Sabha Chairman's chamber to discuss the issue of logjam over the Manipur issue,"

"You are defending PM Modi so much that I do not understand," Kharge said.

To this the ruling MPs start raising their voices. To This, Kharge says, "This is unparliamentary."

Leader of the House Piyush Goyal says, "From day 1, the government has been willing to hold a discussionon Manipur. A good debate is in the interest of the country and the society".

He invites Opposition leaders for a cup of tea to discuss how the House can be conducted in a healthier way.

"We must send out a message calling for peace in Manipur," says Goyal.

Logjam not helping anyone, Manipur issue has to be discussed for at least 6-8 hours to find a solution, says Derek O'brien in Rajya Sabha.

O'brien appealed to the Leader of the House through the Chair to hold dicsussion on Manipur as it needs lawmakers' attention.
