Parliament Highlights| Lok Sabha debates on Railway AllocationHello and welcome to today's live blog! On Tuesday, the Parliament saw the Jammu and Kashmir Budget passed while Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman also responded to the debate on the Budget in the Lok Sabha. Her comments came a day after the Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi -- with much theatrics -- ripped into the Budget, saying it was only for a select few, and ignored the backward castes in India. Rahul Gandhi's comments drew the ire of the Treasury Benches which led to a showdown between the Gandhi scion and Anurag Thakur in the Lower House with the latter's statement questioning Rahul's caste expunged. The Parliament session got off to a stormy start with Kharge saying he felt 'insulted' by words against him, and the Opposition benches raising a ruckus in Lok Sabha. On the other hand Nirmala Sitharaman said that the Agniveer Scheme, '"will help armed forces to have a much younger force by recruiting those in the age group of 17-26 years." She also slammed the Congress government and said that their regime meant 'mehangai'. The latter half of the Lok Sabha discussion consisted of debates on Railway Allocation. The lower house is adjourned till 11 am tomorrow. That's all for today. Thanks for staying with us. Follow DH for latest updates on Parliament news.
