Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will not make any impact in Puducherry in the ensuing Assembly elections as it is a “non-starter” in the Union Territory, said V Narayanasamy, who resigned as Chief Minister on Monday. In an interview withDH's E T B Sivapriyan after the assembly session, Narayanasamy spoke in detail on why the BJP toppled his dispensation.
Since they were made to vote we walked out of House, went to Lt Gov & submitted the resignation. Since the ruling party was not there, Speaker should've taken the vote of the Opposition & declared that the Confidence motion has been defeated. There is a flaw in his procedure: V Narayanasamy
House was summoned on my request & motion was taken up. One of our members raised the issue that the nominated members have no voting rights...The 3 nominated members were told to support the Opposition's stand: V Narayanasamy, after losing trust vote in Puducherry Assembly

V Narayanasamy resigned as Chief Minister of Puducherry on Monday after he failed to prove his government's majority on the floor of the Assembly.Speaker of the Puducherry Assembly, V P Suvakolundhu, announced that the motion of confidence moved by Narayanasamy stands defeated after the chief minister and members of the ruling party staged a walkout.
The Speaker's ruling is incorrect. BJP govt at the Centre, NR Congress & AIADMK have succeeded in dislodging our govt by using voting power used by 3 nominated members. This is murder of democracy. The people of Puducherry and this country will teach them a lesson: V.Narayanasamy
