Participants will have an opportunity to perform and extend their musical learning experience by receiving instructions as well as written adjudications from an international panel of adjudicators.
Entries will be in four competitive divisions; Preliminary (beginner to Grade 1); junior (Grades 2 to 5); intermediate (Grades 6 to 8); advanced (diplomas).
The last date for submitting entries is September 30. Those aged above 25 can also enter, but qualify for separate prizes.
The international adjudication panel will include renowned teachers Scott McBride Smith (USA), Peter Mack (Ireland/USA), Gail Lew (USA) and Murray Nichol (Canada).
Eminent contemporary composer Christopher Norton (New Zealand/England) will be on the adjudication panel as a jazz and popular music specialist and composer in residence.
The teachers-in-residence, Peter Mack, Murray Nichol and Mary Tickner will give private lessons and piano masterclasses during the festival.
Each of the adjudicators will also present workshops for intermediate and advanced participants and for the professional development of the participating teachers.
