The Adelaide Pacific International College was offering business, automotive and aged care courses to 450 students, mostly from India. The college recently failed to meet 12 of 14 federal quality standards in an audit, an ABC report said.

Federal Government has suspended the college's registration for breach of laws protecting international students, it said and added that the college will appeal against the decision. About 70 automotive students were threatened with expulsion last week, with the college citing lack of attendance.

Some of them will meet migration and education authorities this week, it said. Australia has been one of the most favourite destinations for Indian students pursuing higher studies. The country is also home to over 1 lakh Indian students who are currently pursuing various courses.
