New Delhi: The Supreme Court on Wednesday allowed a plea for deletion of advocate Bansuri Swaraj’s name as having appeared for the Enforcement Directorate from its April 2 order granting bail to AAP Rajya Sabha MP Sanjay Singh in the Delhi liquor policy scam case.

A bench led by Justice Sanjiv Khanna passed the direction amending the order after the Enforcement Directorate counsel informed the court that Swaraj’s name got added on the list due to an “inadvertent error”.

Swaraj, daughter of former Union Minister BJP Sushma Swaraj, is a BJP candidate from the New Delhi parliamentary constituency in the Lok Sabha election.

Delhi AAP leader Atishi, however, posted Supreme Court's previous orders in case of Sanjay Singh on social media platform X, contending Swaraj has been appearing for the "so called independent" agency ED in the matter. "The truth can't be concealed by changing one order. ED is BJP and BJP is ED," she wrote.

Earlier on the day, advocate Zoheb Hussain, for the ED, said that Swaraj did not appear in the case nor did she represent the agency in the matter.

“Ok, we will correct the order,” the bench said as Hussain submitted due to some inadvertent error her name is reflected in the appearance slip.

On Tuesday, the apex court granted bail to Singh in a money laundering case related to the Delhi excise policy scam after the Enforcement Directorate said it had no objections. The court also noted Singh has been in jail for about six months and no money trace has been found in the money laundering case. The bench, however, said this order would not be treated as a precedent.
